A bias-related incident is an incident that negatively targets, intimidates, or threatens an individual or group due to race, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities, as well as past/present history of mental disorders.

The Code of Student Conduct defines a bias-related incident: The term ‘bias related’ refers to language and/or behaviors which demonstrate bias against persons because of, but not limited to, others’ actual or perceived: color, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, national origin, race, religion, and/ or sexual orientation.

During this reporting period for Springthe bias reporting system received 92 bias -related reports for 74 bias -related incidents. For example, for one incident that occurred in a classroom setting, we received five reports. When we receive multiple reports for one incident, we respond to.
